Should I use social media...? 10 POINTS!?

Hey! I'm a 16 year old girl with a big dream. I'm trying for a record deal, but I have never had a Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, etc... cause I wanted to hold off. Sometimes companies look at you differently if you don't have any social media, so I was going to wait until after I had actually tried a couple times for a deal. But now I'm debating whether or not I should get myself out there. On twitter, youtube, etc...Do you think it could hurt? Or would it only be able to benefit me? Any opinions are helpful, thank you for reading!

PS- I know, I know, getting a deal and becoming big isn't as easy as it seems, so believe me, I know.

It's no different than asking if you should start watching the news or talk with your friends on phone to start and spread rumors.

Will it hurt you? Only if you become addicted to it and spend hours everyday at it. Will it benefit you? Well you are already exposed to Yahoo which is a social media discussing as well. Opening more doors won't hurt you.

Reading updates from your favourite celebrities on Twitter may be quite entertaining you know. And Facebook is great to chat with your friends and check their new photos out. You may hear a lot of trash talking about Facebook but that only because it has become something everybody needs to have like a mobile phone. And people never have universal opinions on anything that becomes so popular worldwide.
