Facebook account closures/deleted ?

Is possible to know whether a facebook account has been completeley deleted/shut down for certain or whether it is just totally private ie just friends and family ?

If the account does not have a profile picture then it has been closed down

Facebook accounts cannot be deleted permanently, only disabled.
A disabled FB account can be reactivated at any time.
If someone's profile is private, it will most likely not list any personal info, and you will not be able to view photos.

In response to the answerer who stated if the profile does not have a photo it has been deleted, that is false. If the profile does not have a photo, it simply means the owner of the account has not uploaded a profile picture, or has chosen that their profile picture not be viewed by persons who are not their friends.
