Do facebook friend properties "glitch?"?

I noticed a couple close friends of mine (who I had admittedly started to drift away from, but am still good friends with) no longer had me listed as a friend on facebook. When I asked them about it, they claimed it was just a "glitch" that happens on facebook and they had happen to them before. Does facebook occasionally glitch with this problem, making it pure coincidence that this happened, or are they straight-up lying to me? I appreciate any and all feedback.

Well Facebook did just recently update and change their website. However it RARELY, if at all, glitches. Just view your friends through All Friends, and if they are not there then it probably means they removed you. If you want to check for sure, send them another friend request and see if they accept it.
