Gamboa sums up boxing perfectly and says fight vs Garcia will never happen?
Question obviously didn't make sense but Gamboa sums up boxing perfectly in his tweet "Easy fights easy money"

https://twitter.com/gamboa/statuses/422490317183401984

Someone needs to take control to force the best to fight the best.
@Ray: The unashmed business-minded approach to boxing was brought in by Don King but Floyd has perfected it. Perversley Mayfeather is best positioned to reform boxing. Undefeated, very rich and seemingly intelligent.
@Andrew: Gamboa is the poster boy for HGH.

This isn't changing, only individual fighters can change this.

I predict we won't have anyone in the level of guys like Roberto Duran and Henry Armstrong until a special fighter decides to get to that level and is able to.
That fighter will need to win real titles, become mandatory challenger, call fighters out, etc. They will need to do like Harry Greb did; find fights.

That tweet does not mean anything even coming as it does from a big name pro boxer as Gamboa.

Since big-time promoters and businessmen took over from the late 80s, boxers don't control where pro boxing is headed anymore. It is the big time promoters and businessmen who dictate that including whom they wish to glory and whom they wish to destroy.

Easy fights and easy money therefore is more complicated than what it seems. Look at Gamboa himself. Where is he now?

Unfortunately, boxers who dared defy this big business domination like Oscar de la Hoya and Floyd Mayweather when they broke away from Don King and Bob Arum to chart their own course and enjoy the benefits of their labor atop the ring, are even vilified.

And big name boxers who could have helped alter the status quo even further by asserting himself vis a vis vultures masquearading as promoters but did not and could not, are even extolled.

Whatever happened with Gamboa and the Biogenesis lab? Is that still on going or has it been brushed under the carpet?

Easy fights do mean easy money, but we wont get the best fights with the promoters behaving the way they are.

Gamboa burned his own bridge with TR when he no showed for the Rios fight after having accepted +million dollar payday offer with an advance. TR then sued him for breach of contract, but they eventually settled the case after he bought out his contract and signed with 50 cent, which was probably his plan all along. His career lost momentum after that move and you can't expect TR to bail him out by dropping a big fight on his lap. 50 needs to do his job of being a promoter and have him fighting more often instead of just talking smack on twitter. Meanwhile, Gamboa needs to take the big fights that come his way instead of acting like he's the A-side. Juanma Lopez, had expressed interest in facing him 2012 in a fight that would have generated a lot of interest and provided him with a good payday, but Gamboa turned it down, saying that ship has sailed.
