Need: Facebook Business Page Help?
Hello,

Here's my situation:

We have a business that's called Mayday Group Inc. At Mayday Group Inc., we have Swagshop.ca, Mayday Fine Print & Mywayprint.ca . While they may seem to be completely separate businesses, they are all part of Mayday Group Inc. Our Facebook fan page username is currently http://www.facebook.com/MaydayFinePrint .

Problem:

I want to change our Facebook page username to /MaydayGroupInc , so that it represents the full brand. However, I am afriad that users will search up for example - swagshop facebook page, and not see that we've changed it to /MaydayGroupInc .

My question:

If I change the username to /MaydayGroupInc , will our audience be automatically linked to our new Facebook page if they search for Mayday Fine Print, Swagshop.ca or Mywayprint.ca when looking for our Facebook page?

Thank you for taking the time to read this,

Jamie

PS: You can email me directly at sales@maydayfineprint.com

I doubt that Facebook, will let you change that part of the URL. However create a NEW profile, and on the old one, list a redirect to the new one. That will be a lot faster and less of a headache in the long run. Finally I would suggest not listing your email, here on Yahoo! Answers, as there are those who harvest emails, or could be reported for soliciting, which is a violation.

For multiple businesses, having a single a business page improves the brand name popularity in market. You need to mention other websites / business names under the "Long Description" of your business page so that if someone looks for "swagshop facebook page", it will land to your business page.

Also, search engines collects the information from the description tab of your business page.

Again on each of your websites, mention the URL of your business page ( /MaydayGroupInc) so that both users and search engines receives the same information.

Let me know in case you need more assistance.

PS: You cannot change the name of your page once you have got 200 likes on your page.
