Facebook account deleted after being inactive?

I was wondering how long a facebook account would have to be inactive before it is deleted, or if it would ever be deleted. I know the facebook page will be deleted if the email is deleted, but if the email has not been deleted, then will the facebook page be deleted after a certain amount of time, even if the email is not used either?

you cannot delete your facebook account by waiting in an inactivation period. They will keep the account. You should login and visit the following url to completely close your account. If you don't cancel this by logging in with your old details after 2 weeks it will be deleted.
