Working in Marketing?
Is there any work in marketing? Is it very hard to get a job?

Im a qualified teacher, but have had a change of heart. I have been thinking about applying for a marketing trainee job, and then when I have my qualifications, applying for more senior marketing positions. But what is it like to get a job? Is there any work?

Thanks

There are work in marketing. Getting a job these days is tough but you can gain some experience by doing internship. Talk to your academic adviser or councilor about that and see what they have to say. Here are some types of marketing job.

Creative Positions
Creative positions in marketing involve the creation of marketing materials such as ads, brochures or websites. These positions include hands-on graphic designers as well as project managers who may work with external creative vendors.

Analysts
Marketing analysts are responsible for identifying target markets and tracking response rates. They may be slightly involved in creative production and overall marketing strategy.

Writers
Writers who work in marketing departments or for marketing firms are responsible for creation of ad copy, Web content, or direct response copy for brochures and catalogs.

Internet Marketing
Search Engine Marketing and Search Engine Optimization are fast-growing areas of Internet marketing. Use of social media such as Facebook, blogs and Twitter is also a growing trend that is opening up new careers in marketing

Managers and Supervisors
Marketing managers and supervisors may be somewhat removed from the day-to-day creative operations but are still involved in overall marketing strategy. Managers and supervisors also typically have some financial responsibilities such as overseeing departmental budgets.

You might want to look into Affiliate Marketing. It's not considered a business by any means, but you can get a nice side income out of it. No prerequisites or technical knowledge required:
