How do you delete a facebook account?

I just created a facebook account today but I need to delete it because I screwed something up, but i don't know how, can anyone help?

Top right corner>Privacy settings>Security>Deactivate Account.

How do I permanently delete my account?
If you deactivate your account from your Security Settings page, your profile (timeline) and all information associated with it disappears from the Facebook service immediately. People on Facebook will not be able to search for you or view any of your information.

you go to the arrow on the right corner, click account settings. then you go to security (on the left) and you'll see on the bottom it says deactivate your account.

Don't deactivate it, delete that sucker for good. Facebook makes it so easy to deactivate your account, yet it's so difficult to delete an account. Here's the one and only link that can only be found through Googling:

Do not log in for 14 days or like anything. hope this helped

Go to wikihow.com and type in how do you delete a facebook account. Then scroll down until you see a blue link of facebook account deletion page. Click on it and follow the instructions written on it. Wait for 14 days until that account gets deleted.
