Question about facebook messenger app? 10 points!!!?

I've looked in the facebook forums and I can't find an answer:

I recently logged into my computer to change my profile pic, but when I went to my facebook messenger app on my phone my picture icon that shows up in conversations was gone.
I expected the picture to change on the app like it did on my computer but the icon is completely gone. I see the icons of the people that I conversed with, but my own icon has disappeared. I restarted my phone and re-installed the app, but my picture icon is still gone from facebook messenger conversations.

How can I get my picture to reappear so I can see my own icon when I am exchanging messages in app? I see theirs, but my own has disappeared.
