What does it mean when my 6 month old computer already needs more memory?
I've had computers since the green screen..attached keyboard kind. I have never had this issue, especially so soon into purchasing a computer.

I got a computer 6 months ago for schooling and I spent hours trying to figure out which computer is best. It wasn't cheap, but it wasn't expensive either. The reviews were great..

It's a desktop. It shuts down and restarts whenever it damn well wants to, when I have ONE window open it says that I need to close it and re-open it...that my memory is low. I can NOT have 2 windows open, and google chrome no longer works even for 4 min.

I put over 100 pictures from a wrestling event, downloaded iTunes, and ever since that's when I find the issues. BUT I deleted both of those things (pics are still on my camera), and it still says low memory.

How is this possible? I barely have ANYTHING on this computer and deleted/uninstalled a lot when we first set it up because I wanted it strictly for school. I didn't even go on social media sites or anything the first few months.

HOW do I get more memory and why is this computer doing this so soon?

How much RAM does the computer have installed? When was the last time you ran a virus scan?

Try doing a system clean up. Disk defrag and clear the registry files. Really sounds like somthing is stuck in a loop and using up all your ram and rom.

You might have a overheating problem. Unplug the pc and take the cover off the case (at your own risk) and take a can of compressed air and blow out the dirt, dust from the cpu fan/heat sink. Blow out all the dust in the case. Plug the power cord back into the computer and turn it on. Make sure the cpu fan is running as well as the other fans if you have them

Your getting Hard Drive Memory mixed up with RAM. They are two different bits of memory.
The Hard Drive is when things are stored and that is NOT the issue.

The issue is RAM.
How much RAM do you have??
AND
How many programs are TICKED to start when the computer starts.

to find out -
Windows 7 - Click on Start and in the Search type msconfig and click OK.
The System Configuration Window will Open. Go to the START UP TAB and UN tick EVERYTHING Except your Anti-Virus program.
Click OK and restart your computer.

When your computer is running right click down the bottom on the start bar and click task manager, go to processes, adn see which processes are using up most of the resources, then delete the applcations or programs that come with tose processes. Also normally what ruins computers is Norton anti virus, if you have this delete it and evrything associated with it. Trend micro is the best one that i have used but it is not cheap.

Any reason you didn't give us your computer specs? Make & model number?
~
What was your criteria for buying your new computer? Price? Upgrade-ability? It was pretty?

Without more info we haven't much to go on. People buy cheap junk and expect it to do everything.
