How can I get my mom to stop stalking?

Yesterday I showed my mom a picture of my cats. She said "I know. I've already seen that picture before." then I said "What?" (I've only put it on Twitter, haven't shown anyone else.) My mom said "I've seen that before on your profile. She doesn't even own a Twitter! None of my relatives follow me. I don't do anything illegal or bad. I just respect others' privacy, expecting they will respect mine too.

Maybe she came into your room for something and you had your twitter page on display and she just happened to come across the picture that is one possibility. Or maybe she was snooping. All you can do is address this situation to her. Speak out and see what her response is. Do it in a manner where she doesn't feel you're accusing her of snooping. But simply ask her how she happened to see it without you showing it to her.

She is a normal mom. I would not consider that stalking but it is a little strange. Ask her nicely to respect you privacy and ask her how she saw it.
