How can I make friends?
I'm naturally an introvert, as well as naturally shy. I lisp, stutter and am not considered a thing of beauty, so a lot of people avoid me. A lot of people where I live strongly dislike me because I've either done something to them or because I'm pansexual and genderfluid, which doesn't go over well in a hicktown. My sarcastic humor and strong belief in equality doesn't help, either, since everyone here is pretty small-minded. I also have a low tolerance for blatantly stupid people, as well as dramatic people. I've tried finding people online, through multiple social networking mediums. I've also joined drama club, but the only members were people I had considered friends. Everyone I find who has things in common with me always ends up being either dramatic or blatantly stupid. I'm starting to lose hope that I'm going to meet someone who can share views with me who isn't a dramatic teenager. Since my social skills are apparently lacking, how can I work to make them better? If you know of any, what are some websites or communities that harbor people similar to myself in one or more aspects? My community doesn't offer any book clubs or anything of the like for people my age (thirteen years), so that type of thing is out of the question.

Maybe you should be friends with the people that accept you. I am also shy and sarcastic, but I'm in band, so I have a couple of friends in there. Maybe you could befriend a teacher, like some kids have done to the band director. Those are people who aren't dramatic teenagers.
