POPTENT is a horror, or is that just my experience?
Facebook, youtube and twitter allow their users the option of privacy control and deleting their account.

POPTENT DOES NOT.

Instead you have to beg on your hands and knees for one of those community staff workers to delete it.

POPTENT invades the privacy of suckers like me who made the mistake of giving them the time of day.

If you signed up out of curiosity, you'll be horrified later by POPTENT.net's lack of privacy features. It's nauseating. I signed up there innocently thinking I could just alter my information and/or delete my account later. Boy, was I WRONG.

Once they know who you are they hold onto you for life.

My name on a search engine like google, POPTENT.net, is one of the fist things to come up. I saw that and immediately was like, WTF. I logged into their nightmare of a poorly constructed non-user friendly website only to find out there is absolutely NO feature that lets a user delete their account.

I understand the practicality of that if someone uploaded to a video to one of their assignments, but I had not and as such I should have had the option to delete my account. God knows I don't want my name associated with them.

So I searched on the POPTENT.net site for a way to delete my account because I didn't want my name to come up with theirs. I couldn't find anything so I searched google and saw where a POPTENT staff member was advising another person to contact the POPTENT community staff and tell them to deactivate the account.

Great idea, right?

NOT!

I logged onto the horror called, POPTENT.net and clicked a link to a staff member on POPTENT's website. POPTENT so badly want to be on the level of twitter and facebook they abuse privacy rights of their members so they can get more search engine traffic. Awful and manipulative.

But anyway, I contacted a staff member named. There was a button on his profile page that said ‟message” so I clicked it to send him what I thought was a private message about deleting my account. '

Much to my horror my “message” posted right on his wall for everyone to see.

WTF!

I was pissed because the last thing I wanted was what I thought was a private message to be displayed in public, but that's what I mean about manipulating users privacy for search engine rank.

If the button had said “leave a comment” then i would have known everyone would see my “message.”

That was embarrassing and unnecessary for the site to be like that but i decided to wait for them to delete my account.

Over 24 hours later my profile had NOT been deleted but I saw the staff member had been active on the POPTENT profile.

I was annoyed. I wanted my profile deleted and it was clear he was too busy to do it. Again this feature should be active on their site.

It made me feel like a kindergartner begging to go potty. Grown people should NOT have to beg other people for permission to leave a website. That's ridiculous.

So then I SEARCHED THEIR SITE DESPERATELY FOR A way to contact them privately about deleting my account. No such luck.

Now that it had been over 48 hours, my comment on that evil site was being picked up by search engines. Grrrr....

I even started to contact them under their button for reporting bug features but that I realized is made public too.

In fact anything you write in that site is permanent and public. I did notice they give you 5 minutes to edit a comment after that it becomes permanent fixture of their website and you cannot delete it or edit it after 5 minutes. Unfortunately, I noticed the 5 minute option much too late.

I then contacted every staff member (lazy or indifferent) I can't figure out why they're so inefficient but I knew my messages would be made public this time, and I was right. Way to go, POPTENT.net!

Anyway after begging all over the place one of those indifferent staff members finally deleted my account. I'm not sure who because they didn't bother to send a message saying they finally deleted it.

I found out because I tried to log in and saw it was deactivated. I was happy.

Peace of mind restored, right?

NOPE!

Now in google my name not only comes up with POPTENT but it also displays the million times I begged for them to delete my account.

They left all my message displayed in public even though my account has been deleted. It appears that my name and “private messages” will be displayed forever as long as their site exists. Barf, total disrespectful invasion of my privacy because POPTENT wants to show up in search engines as much as possible.

Does anyone else have problem's with POPTENT's usability of their site.

Don't bother answering if you're on POPTENT's payroll.
