Can swearing on Facebook affect your job?
If you swear in statuses and comments, or say inappropriate stuff in them, when you decide to get a job in the future, is there a possibility they won't hire you because of your past on Facebook? I'm curious because I have sworn on Facebook in the past and I'm not sure whether to delete it or hide it incase it affects my future XD

Yes if your employer sees them.

Has happened many times before.

Twitter also.

Swearing is ok possibly but inappropriate stuff can be bad.

Most employers check Facebook for employee's.

Bad behavior is gross misconduct - read your own work contract. It will almost certainly these days include "social media websites"

1. Only open a Facebook account in an assumed name, never your own.

2. Don't put any photos of yourself where the public can see them, just friends only.

3. If asked, tell your employer, or future employer, that you don't use facebook.

4. Never check your Facebook account during working hours.

One of the things that all employers do is google search (and Facebook / linked in) your name. It's really easy for them to see your character because most people forget who can view their stuff online. Delete those posts and make sure your Facebook can only be viewed by your friends.

Also, make sure none of your friends has posted something about you on their profile with your name tagged because employers can view that too.

Yes. If that is how you choose to present yourself to the world that is how people will see you...

and if you get the job most employers have rules about what you can say on Facebook etc....
