MY CONTACTS ARE GONE - WHAT CAN I DO TO RESTORE?
YES! HACKED!!
Even worse -
- all my contacts are gone!
- all my sent mail is gone!
- all my draft mails are gone!
- and now, NONE of my activity is showing up in my just sent emails!
The account seems to be "disabled" because NEW emails do NOT show up in sent emails log. I have tried ALL of these HELP #'s: 408-349-1572 (on HOLD for two hours between 10 am and Noon this morning). Also- 877-722-3755, 866-850-4303, 866-849-8298, 866-924, 6676, 800-318-0612, 855-894-4860, 800-699-2466, 888-551-2881, 866-562-7219. In ALL case I was never able to reach a live person. I left a message similar to this one at about 3:30 today - INTHIS SYSTEM - not "community" but the contact Yahoo option. A guy called me back - I gave him access to my computer so he could see what ws going on. He discovered that my account had been accessed by NIGERIA twice this morning at about 8 am. He then said he had to talk to somebody and figure out what to do next - he was "sure" the account could be restored. He PROMISED he would call me back. I asked him what time he got off work - he said midnight. It is now 12:01 - and no return call. I AM NOW ON HOLD at 800-318-0612 - have been for about nearly an hour. Does anyone know of a PH# where I can talk to someone who will not lie to me!? NO contacts. NO sent mail. NO draft mail. I've been trying all day to get help!!!!! Very frustrated and very exhausted.

Change your password then
Fill out a Mail Restore form ASAP http://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?locale=en...id=SLN2552 you only have a few days to restore lost mail
Fill out a Contacts Restore http://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?locale=en...id=SLN2160

Also do all of the following to protect your privacy and identity
- follow the instructions on this page for disabling forwarding http://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?locale=en...=SLN3525to make sure your emails are not all being forwarded to the hacker’s address
- make sure the alternate email address is still yours and you have a security question and answer set
- until you get your Contacts back find some other way to reach them - Facebook, twitter, phone, text, etc -- to inform them that your account was hacked. They will soon be getting an email from the scammer claiming to be you needing to borrow money for some emergency
- if you used your same username and password for ANY other site, you need to immediately change the passwords on ALL of those accounts. Unfortunately 80% of people use the same username and password for everything. Hackers know this and once they know your email login they'll try those same details on Facebook, Paypal, Twitter, Linkedin, Amazon, EBay, every major bank and credit card company, etc to try and hack those accounts as well
- if your emails contained ANY financial information (Paypal receipts, online banking statement, credit card bills, etc) you need to IMMEDIATELY inform these institutions. You will have to freeze your bank and credit card accounts and get new account numbers and cards sent to you. Set up a new email address to change your Paypal account. These hackers will go through all of your emails to see if there is anything they can use to steal your money and identity
- also consider filing a fraud alert with the credit bureaus -- read the FTC website http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/features/fea...tity-theft

You didn't get an email recently that looked like it was from Yahoo asking you to verify or update your account, or that your account had exceeded its limits, or that there was suspcious activity did you? That was not from Yahoo, that was a phishing scam and by responding you ended up giving your login details to the scammer
