Why can't Republicans just support free markets and limited government and lay off the social issues?

Most of us do. The Social conservative are only a small faction of the republican party. They just have the biggest mouths.

They have been obsessed with the sex lives of others and women's access to safe, legal abortions for as long as I can remember. The base of their party is made of over-the-edge christians and the party has to placate them.

This is why I'm voting Gary Johnson.

I suppose they know their audience is a field of bigots that makes up a good amount of our great country. They regurgitate their silly talking points for them, which lets them get away with having shitty monetary policy, starting pointless wars, and enforcing unconstitutional laws to line their pockets. These people are starting to die now though. At least I hope. Internet save us all.

Are you serious. Its the liberal democreatons that do not support of the free market, They also try and push social agendas. Wow you liberals have no shame.

Ben Franklin quote...Those who point blame are not much good for anything else.

I hope you enjoy blaming others for your transgression.

it was the Democrats that brought those social issues to the national stage, should the Republicans ignore them now that they are there?

Oh for God sake, would everyone just shut up already...I'll be so glad when this bloody mud slinging, partisan, divisive election is over with. I happen to live in Ohio and I for one am already sick to death of the dirty, miserable way these candidates are throwing insults and lies at each other. This has got to be one of the dirtiest campaigns in the history of the country. The adds are down right disgusting. The mudslinging has gotten so rampant, that I don't even want to turn on my TV any more. Then I come on the forum in hopes of hearing a small bit of sanity in all of this political garbage going on and I find even more of the partisan crud going on here. Face it at the rate we're going, China will be able to move into the white house any day now and nobody will notice until they evict Obama and his cronies. It'll be the first time in history that a superpower was invaded and taken over without so much as a shot fired. Heck they already own this country. All they need to do now is bide their time and we'll be so busy fighting with each other that we'll be easy pickins. Wake up, stop fighting with each other and let's get this country back on it's feet before it's to damned late !
