Why does this girl keep lying to me about something so stupid?

so me and this girl are extremely close.
she tells me that she loves me and that i mean the world to her etc..
and dont tell me "oh you guys are just friends she can do whatever she wants" cause its not like that.

so, ill just get straight to the point.

so she uses twitter, and has a bunch of guys following her.
now dont get me wrong, i dont mind if she talks to guys.
but all they do is hit on her.
shes the type of person to feel bad for every little thing, so she plays along with what they say to not ignore them.

now weve spoken about it many times, and she knows i hate it.
and so she told me that she would get rid of it.
and so she did... for a week.
a week later she was back on it.
then a little bit after that we spoke about it again, and she told me that she doesnt care about it or them and that she doesnt need twitter at all.
so again, she gave me her word that shed get rid of it.
and she did.
but then again not too long later she was back on it.
so i mentioned it, and she said shes only back on it because she found i was being too controlling.
which in my opinion isnt that controlling.
if she meant everything she told me, why would she keep lying about this behind my back.
i even told her she could keep it, but to just unfollow the guys hitting on her, or to simply ignore him.
so anyways then she deactivated it again,
but then not too long later she was back on it.
and so then about a week ago it happened again, and she told me that all it does is cause problems between us, and so she would get rid of it for good.
but now, a few days later, shes back on it...

i dont get why she wont just get rid of it if it doesnt mean anything to her like she tells me.
and why would she tell me all this stuff about me and us, if shes just going to lie to me all the time behind my back.
im really confused.

Nothing to be confused about. She doesn't want to get rid of her Twitter account. Especially since Twitter isn't the problem. It's her inability to say "no" and set boundaries. So instead of telling her what you want and expecting her to go along with it, ask her how she wants to handle the situation. If she sees nothing wrong with just continuing things as they are and letting these guys believe what they want to believe, and you're not okay with that (which is entirely understandable), then you have to decide whether you can live with it or let her go. But stop asking this question and expecting a different result when you haven't gotten one so far, because next time's not going to be any different.
