I'm confused with these stuff, internet marketing, search engine optimization, social media optimization, etc.. Are they all related?

Yes they are all related.

Internet marketing - Simply Put it is Marketing a product using various aspects of the Internet.

Social Media - Using Social sites like Face book etc to introduce your business, product & information to others. A more social introduction and form of communication.

Email Marketing - Introducing information, deals, products etc by using email.

Paid Advertising - Pay per Click advertising - Such as google adwords etc. You pay a certain amount of money for particular search terms. When someone clicks on your add - you then pay the agreed price for that click.

The next time you search a term in google you will see the top two perhaps and the right hand side recommendations are known as sponsored adds. The advertiser has paid to have their information put in the lime light so to speak.

The other sites that come up are known as organic search results. The site owner has not had to pay for their information to come up in the search. That is free exposure, free traffic and hence Search Engine Optimisation will hopefully yield free search engine traffic.

Internet marketing covers Pretty much anything that gets exposure to your business and products - it gets people to connect and want your product.

Search engine optimisation - is a skill that needs to be learned. This is when your website is set up so well that the search engines send you free traffic as a result of individual search terms.

A lot more is involved in search engine optimisation involves the key words or key word search terms that someone searching for your product is likely to enter into a search engine such as google.

You will see what I mean about key words by viewing my site. You will see the keywords are in bold. They are search terms that don't have enormous competition but a fair few searches per month.

SEO or search engine optimisation also involves things like Sites linking to other sites, the age of the site and a whole heap more.

These things are not so easy to learn and will bring about results but often rather slowly. I began a business and did the courses necessary to learn search engine optimisation but I don't totally depend on that anymore. I have changed my business focus slightly which has made me less dependent upon enormous web traffic.
