Facebook friend confusion...?

So I've requested two different people as friends on facebook. It still says "Awaiting friend confirmation" next to their name, but some of their things still show up in my news feed. Such as when they change their picture, who they are friends with now, and things that they "liked".

What the heck is going on?

Lot of such things are going on in facebook.
Most things are 'public ' there now!

That's how it works. It temporarily subscribes you to their public updates/activity until they approve/deny your request.

If you go here http://www.facebook.com/#!/friends/?filter=ac you'll see that they're 'on' your friends list, but it says 'awaiting confirmation' too.

Thats just facebook, it does that on mine, it will do that until they decline you, hope this helped?!
