Convincing Parents and Don't Know How?
Last week I had gotten a dog. I left him home with my brother so i could buy dog food with my parents, and my brother called me to tell me he had ran off. My parents said not to bother with the dog, but I want to give him a second chance. I put a ad in my local group on facebook and many of them said they had saw him. I really want to convince my parents to keep him, but they don't seem to keen to. I get good grades and don't really get into problems unless they are severe.

Can anyone tell me how to convince them? I don't really want my puppy to end up getting picked up by animal control or killed by a mountain lion since we have been having problems with them.

Thank you to all who answer.

Be cool calm and collected, and present both pros and cons. Make sure there are more pros and that they're better.

Name all the reasons why you should keep the dog like : it will teach you responsibility, helping you mature, teaching you to me more like a grown up, ect.
Tell them you been getting good grades, hardly ever get into trouble, been really good.
Hopefully with a little b.s. they'll give in.

Quite frankly your parents and brothers are a holes. I assume you used your money to buy the food. You left your brother to keep an eye on the dog and instead of holding your brother responbilty they punish YOU for YOUR brother not being reasonable.

That wrong and not fair to you and I would tell them that it not fair to punish you for YOUR brother didn't take the responbilty of dog sit seriously while you get food .

Did you convince your parents to let you have a dog before you got the puppy? You can't just decide to bring a dog home without clearing it with the adults in the household. You may be able to afford dog food, but can you afford immunizations, training and vet care for your dog? If not, it's unfair of you to expect your parents to pay for those costs and pay for any damage that a new puppy may do such as chewing up furniture, carpets and door frames, relieving itself on carpets and beds, getting into the trash and generally doing all the destructive stuff that puppies can do. If your parents don't want a dog, then if you find that puppy, you should take him to an animal rescue group and they will find him a good home. You can always get a dog when you're older, living in your own place and able to afford to take care of him properly.
