i need to know because im thinking of getting mozilla firefox or safari or google chrome. And i've been doing some research only to find so many people against IE too. So can i know why? lols, bringing IE down was even a trending topic on twitter,

And by the way, could your tell me in your opinions which browser is the best, between firefox, opera, google chrome and safari, stating why too? Thanks!

Never heard this or seen it.
Each browser performs a virtually identical function and so the choice is a matter of personal taste. Google Chrome is not for me because it lacks features I expect to find in a browser but some people are very enthusiastic about it

Safari, in my opinion because 1. I have it and 2. MACbooks are ruling america and thats what macbooks come with, safari!!

just like itunes...it used to be microsoft windows media player but now everyone uses itunes because thats how you handle an ipod which, once again, everyone also owns, uses and has.

As a web designer I find IE the most infuriating of all the browsers plus firefox chrome and safari all have nice features to aid in design. IE6 is one of the biggest reasons people hate IE (Especially in design) as it is a buggy terrible browser that doesn't display pngs transparency for one and has a lot of issues. It is also installed on MILLIONS of work environment setups that cannot be updated so we are stuck with it and designers have to basically write code to support it each time they create anything. My personal preference is firefox for the features and stability in display, but the others are good too. IE comes in last place regardless.

I design web pages so Firefox is my browser of choice because it is the ONLY browser closest to being fully CSS 2.1 complaint. It does NOT tolerate sloppy coding of web pages and shows you your page as you've coded it. IE is fine, but it is popular for people who make web pages and don't care about how it is coded. IE parses the worse coded pages I've ever seen and they will look good. If it is a pro page properly coded, then that's when IE starts acting up because it has no concept on how to parse a web page properly coded. Just Google for IE bugs and hacks and you'll see what I mean.

For the average web surfer, Opera, Safari, Chrome and the hundreds of others all have their advantages/disadvantages and should be selected according to the needs of the User.

You have to remember that IE was the first browser (and only at the time) ever developed for the general public. As such, it did set the standards.
After the judgement against microsoft, other browser were born.
Nowadays, IE, Firefox, Chrome, Safari and Opera hold 99.5% of the share of the market. As a developer, you have to have all 5 to test your sites.
Not ONE browser is better than any other: not ONE browser follows the advices of W3C to the letter, and all render the code slightly differently.
IE, being the oldest, is the one that has most "quirk" problems, the others attempting to follow W3C recommendations.
I have no favourite, but I develop FIRST for IE, then adjust for the others (I found the other way round much more complex to resolve). (I also use <DOC tag XHTML 1.0 Strict> which prevents IE going into quirk mode and forces good coding practices)
And, again, being the oldest, IE is, in my opinion, the safest, Firefox being the worst: I work without AVs and just with a firewall. In 15 years, I have been infected once (2001), never since. I browse with IE and never get any adware or malware.
10 minutes in Firefox, and I have to cleanup huge amounts of these...
Finally, IE loads in 4 seconds when I click the thumbnail. FF, Chrome and Safari take at least 30 seconds; they have to load all crap images of history they have stored to show me what other sites I have visited. I have no need for that. These new browsers are full of features I do not need, which make them slow and inefficient.
The best? None. The one I prefer: IE7
The worsts? Chrome and Safari: they use appleWebKit, which does not render <div> tags like the others (especially when dealing with AJAX and <div> overflow: totally unreliable).
