IPhone 5, or Samsung Galaxy S4?

I started dating this guy I've known for years, and he keeps trying to keep me away from Apple (which I adore.) He convinced me to switch from my beloved iPhone 4S to an HTC One X, which fucking sucks. (i've had it 7 months and its already almost completely destroyed!) After this phone and the phones my friends have, I'm scared to try any new Android products. I want to switch to the 5 when my contract is up in a month, but my boyfriend is trying to keep me on droid, saying the S4 is the best. I don't believe him about phones anymore lol. So, which one should I choose? I don't care much for fancy processors or stuff. I just text, get on reddit, listen to music, and take pics for instagram. I don't need much. Thanks in advance

i have the iphone 5 and it's just a more convenient size for me i hate the size of the galaxy its just inconvenient

I have the samsung galaxy note 2 and it tops the iphone 5. I've compared it to the iphone 5 and I just laugh when kids tell me it isnt as good as apple. The galaxy 4 is suppose to have even better software than this. HTC isnt good in general. Samsung and apple are the top two and samsung is number one for sure. People just buy apple to try and fit in.

The Galaxy S4 is technologically superior to the iPhone 5. The iPhone 5 is easier to use than the Galaxy S4.
the GS4's camera has a 13 megapixel back camera and a 2 megapixel front camera. The iPhone has an 8 Megapixel back camera and a 1 megapixel front camera.
If you care about speed, performance, more memory, a better camera, and a more customizable phone, go with the GS4.
If you are looking for a good looking phone, with good looking features, and ease of use, go with the iPhone 5.

It doesn't sound like you need any smartphone all that much even though you will pay for it. I'd just go back to your old iPhone and use that. The s4 is pretty new. I wouldn't get a phone that hasn't been out long enough for owners to discover its faults.

It is the sheer expense of getting an iPhone which no longer are premier devices.

The HTC ONE X is basically an HTC version of an iPhone
These Sam Gal phone are All superior to the best iPhone the IP5
The S IV, S 4MINI, SGS III , NOTE 2 and the SGS II which will be the least expensive.

The BB Z10 IS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS, the highest spec Dual Core phone ( until S 4MINI is releases)

Re IP5 / S IV
Just because they are sold in the same shops they are not in the same league.
1) Everyone recommends the IP5 and NEVER mentions the price. iPhone prices / tariffs on any all networks defy logic and gravity

The Samsung Galaxy S II (2)was released in MAY 2011 & has 1.2Ghz Dual Core processor with an 8Mp camera.

18 months later November 2012 Apple puts a 12Ghz Dual Core processor & 8Mp camera in a phone and call it the IP5

4) iPhones play catch up what is on an iPhone came out months before on other makes. Eg the iPhone4 was the FIRST iPhone to have a camera flash yeah 2010 .

A total of 9 things are missing as ALL IPHONES do NOT have BLUETOOTH MEDIA TRANSFER! so NO sharing SGS II 9 MORE, SGS III 9 MORE S IV 9 MORE,

The IP5S released anytime within the next 3 to 4 months it being an S will be a tweak so still Dual Core IMO the other IP5S will NOT surpass the BB Z10 (Which is the best Dual Core phone in this the Samsung Galaxy ATM)
Windows 8 phones have 1.5GHz processor as 'standard'

You can get the SGS II, it is a SIX TIME PHONE OF THE YEAR WINNER and be confident in the knowledge that whatever price you would have paid for the IP5 is a saving, you WILL have the better phone!
The IP5 may shave nano seconds in response but just one in the plus column does not cancel out the negative

This is why I believe that the Samsung Galaxy S4 is better than the iPhone 5
1. It is quicker (1.9 quad core processor/ 1.6ghz Octa core vs 1.3 dual core processor)

2. Microsd- you can expand the memory with a 64gb microsd. This a cheaper way to expand your memory and you can have a 16 gb S4 and still have more storage than iphone 5 if you get a 64gb microsd.

3. USB OTG- you can read usb keys no problem with an adapter so you can check out what's on them so you don't have to put your computer on.

4. Microusb charger- Better than the lighting connector as you can get them easily and cheaply but also you might have it from other devices as it is becoming standard for smartphones to use micro-usb chargers.

5. Removable battery- This means you can replace the battery if you run out of charge when you are around unlike the iphone 5 which you have to charge or bring an external charger and charge it from there, however this is an awkward way of charging your phone. Also the removable battery can help you prevent water damage as you can remove the battery if it falls in water, thus reducing the chances of water damage.

6. NFC- Want to transfer a music album quicker than bluetooth, well now you can with NFC. You can also use Tectiles 2 to make your life easier

7. Customizable- Change launcher(Are you bored, get a new launcher that suits you and your personality), custom ROM your phone and have access to apps specifically made for rooted devices directly on the play store. You control the device so that it suits you.

8. Dropbox- Love cloud storage well Samsung is offering 50gb free of charge to S4 owners for 2 years on Dropbox. Backup music, video, photos(this can be done automatically), documents etc. Who doesn’t want this amount of free cloud storage?(You have to complete a certain amount of steps to get the free storage but none requires any credit card details or anything to complicated) (N.B Not everyone will be offered this bonus as carriers have been known to have stopped Samsung from offering this to customers)

9. Screen- It’s bigger but not too big. It has 441ppi vs iPhone 5’s 326ppi plus the Amoled screen creates beautiful colors.
I also found no problems when using one hand, and I have medium hands if not small hands. Also I mostly use the Note 2 and it fits in all my pockets, suit trousers, jeans, tracksuits so the S4 will certainly fit in virtually all pockets

10. Android features-Widgets, live wallpapers, Google Now and all the beauty of android, widgets on the lockscreen etc

11. Samsung added features
a. Smartstay- won't turn the screen off if you are still looking at it.
b. Smartpause- pauses a video when you turn around and turns it back on when you turn back
c. Eye controlled webpage scrolling

a. Dual shot- take photos from both cameras so that you can include the photographer in a photo
b. Photo with audio message- record a message before or after a photo to add to a photo
c. Eraser shot- can remove unwanted moving content
d. Drama shot- takes pictures of a moving object and puts the moving object through the whole picture
e. More but those are the best

13. Multitasking- watch videos while online, write an email while watching a video, send a message while surfing the web, you can split the screen in two so you can multitask without a bother, this cannot be done on the iPhone 5.

14. Durability- The S4 does not suffer from scratches like the iphone 5 where the back of the phone is aluminium and scratches really easy, the S4 does not suffer this fate.

because....
First of all the price! The Samsung galaxy s4 price will go down in a year. But if you get the iPhone 5 the price will hardly change. This happens because the Samsung company are making new Samsung s's as the s5 , and when the new one will release the price for the s4 will go down! There as the iPhone it's apple company, and there's only 4 apple models out, and they wont make the iPhone 6 that quick that's why the price will be high until the newer one comes.

Well the Samsung galaxy has a 13mp camera, and has features like eye scroll down, and like pausing the video when your bit looking at the phone directly,the iPhone 5 does not have these features!
The iPhone 5 is not much difference between the 4s. It has a good camera but its not 13mp! There are no special features! BUT the price for the iPhone 5 will hardly go down where as the s4 will! Therefore, you can wait a bit and get the s4 for less.

On the other hand, it's your choice!
