Deleting social media from my life?
Ive never been on twitter or anything like that but I was a slave to facebook. I deactivated my account before but I always went back on, but now I deleted all of my friends before deactivating that way there would be no reason to go back on. I'm spaming most of the useless emails I get and I'm deleting all the pointless games on my phone.
Have any of you done something similar?
Do you have any tips or stories?

Also I'm a teenager so my friends look down upon the idea but thats okay!

I didn't even think about the contacts thing. I don't talk to half of the people on there anyways. And I don't spend that much time outside so I think i'll add more of that in. And I do spend a lot of time reading yahoo articles. Good advice!

I think you've made a wise decision.

Like you, I'm also a teenager. A few months ago, I deleted my Tumblr, Facebook, Google + accounts as well as all my old emails, most of my apps and half of the contacts in my phone. I also stopped reading online news, since it was too pointless and time consuming to continue. Best choice I ever made!

As far as tips go, I'd recommend finding some new hobbies that are rather time consuming, so that you don't have the opportunity to fall back into old habits. Maybe get outside a little more often, depending on how much you're out there already - and I would suggest that you don't take your phone with you everywhere unless you really need it.

Best of luck to you, and congrats on getting away from the social media - that can be quite hard to do in this day and age, especially with being a teenager. I hope you'll feel a little better now.
