How to make a clean slate on social media?

Unfortunately I've made some poor decisions in my life, and making a Twitter account was one of them. Now I know no matter what happens, my tweets from the past are here to stay. (Thanks to things like Google) but I want to know if I could make a clean slate for myself on social media. Like possibly could I make a new Twitter to make myself look more presentable? Please help. If you can.

As you say, you can never entirely delete your past internet actions, but deleting your social media accounts and starting again from scratch is a good first move.

One thought - did you use your full name on Twitter? Can you use a slightly different name (e.g. your full first name rather than a shortened version or whatever) to try to separate yourself from that identity?
