Random Followers On Twitter?

I'm confused with Twitter. No, I don't want any comments on how stupid the site is, because that's not what I'm asking. What I want to know is, I've only been on it since yesterday and random people I don't even know are becoming my followers. How could they find me? So far I've gotten some 22 year old slut/whore chick who "LOVES TO PARTAY" and hopes to "MEET SOME CUTE GUYS AND GIRLS, MAYBE I'LL GIVE YOU MY NUMBER," an old retired guy, an eating disorder organization, and some weekend bar tender. I know NONE of these people and it's seriously creeping me out. o_x The only normal one I got and kept was an anime subtitler because I like anime.

What is UP with this?

Exactly, just unfollow or block them, lol. They dont mind. Once u find a group of folks u like it gets fun. How do people find u? because they're probably fake profiles searching for newbies or something.
