The lack of interaction in teens is based solely on the injured state of society, rather than the creation of social media. Teenagers use social media as an escape from the ever increasing suffocation of fear. Virtually all societal issues are based through these characteristics.

Yes absolutely not only in teenagers, also in the population at large, but teens are always going to be pretty much the best overall at the technology. Anyone on a phone publicly is so focussed they are totally unaware of their surroundings, they are usually shouting into it - if they are walking they will suddenly stop or start walking erratically with no concept of anyone else sharing the pavement -Bullying is rife so they get a completely distorted view of communications as most of us are able to leave the playground behind. I swear someone on a train could take a heart attack and no one would notice . The problem seems to be that they are addictive and so much easier on the whole from real life - So in your pocket you have a magic pill against loneliness or any of the other character building life events- Its like white noise - background fuzz, tippling on alcohol - it takes away the pain but gives us no real life challenges
