help friend requests facebook!?

ok so I some wants to be my friend on facebook then it usually gets sent to my gmail so I can confirm it but when I hit the green box that says confirm friend it just goes to facebook and it has friend suggestions did I confirm it or what? or do I go on facebook to confirm the friend request if I have to confirm it on facebook how? please help I have alot of people I know that want to be friends with me. HELP! =(

The link in your email will just take you to the "Friend Requests" page. You have to actually click 'Accept' to confirm their request.

If you confirm from Gmail then that person is your friend, the suggestion box is a way in which facebook asks you to suggest friends you can simply skip this by clicking on skip on the bottom of that pop up.
