How do I come out as lesbian?
Hi, I'm a 15 year old lesbian girl, well I'm not entirely sure if I'm a lesbian, because I've never been attracted to any male before, but I've had obsessions with female celebrities and I've fallen in love with one of my female best friends, but I'm trying to convince myself she doesn't like me back. Anyway, I want to tell my friends I'm bisexual because I feel like they should know who the real me is since they always try to pair me up with some guy but it's annoying because I feel like I'm only attracted to girls, but how? I go to a school the supports LGBT and we even have a club that's called true colors. I'm scared I might lose friends so I'm bottling up inside, but I really want to tell them, but I just don't know how. I've messaged my friend on facebook and said '' Hey, I have something important to tell you'' but then I completely regret saying that because I thought I was prepared, but I'm actually not. My family is also very religious ( we're roman Catholics ) and they are VERY homophobic and they tell me to stay away from gay people, so I know I'm not going to come out to them until later on.. when i'm ready.. I'm really scared and I need some advice on how to come out... Should I come out as bisexual? Help please

I was about your age when I came out. I decided to go with bisexual first because i hadnt fully figured it out myself but later on realized I was straight up lesbian Smile the first people I told were my friends and all of them supported me, if your friends dont support you then honestly they dont really care about you. No need to worry about them and get sad or upset over their unacceptance. Start going to your schools lgbt group. You could do it before or after telling your friends, the people of that group will make you feel welcome and would possibly become your friends so if you lose some youll still gain some. Just llookat the bright side. If your friends are uncomfortable perhaps they will come around later on? Youre not an alien, you just like girls. As far as the parents/family goes, well just wait if you dont feel like telling them, I was going to wait until I moved out and got far away lol but that didnt happen although my family does support me Smile so dont have anyone tell you that you need to tell them. But try telling your friends because friends come and go truthfully. But definitely go to the lgbt group Smile I hope I helped or at least calmed your nerves ;p

I was in that situation, just a few months ago! I was confused also about telling others, but once I told my best friends I felt way better and also 1 of my friends told me she was too!! I felt so much better after I told them, first I would tell your closet friends or someone you know is not judgementalSmile . After you start feeling more accepting with yourself you could tell your other friends or family Smile take your time there's no hurry!!! Smile

Honestly it sounds like you don't really know if you are or not. So I think for now it is best not to define yourself with a definitive label, its ok that you don't know yet don't stress about it. You are only 15 thats very young and you've got plenty of time to figure it out. Boys are very immature till they reach their 20's so I don't think its unusual to not be interested in them until then anyway.
