They serve quite different purposes.
If you want to notify a lot of people VIA SMS immediately, than Twitter is better because the SMSs are free. Ads |

Neither, social networking's time-consuming and leads to mild codependency on the site, and you're constantly bombarded by adverts and spam.
But, to choose one, I'd have to say Twitter, never used it but it looks less time consuming than Facebook and easier to contact bands/celebs you'd like to talk to. |
