Are there any atheist churches or support groups in Maine?
I don't need people to tell me what to believe, stupids! I need a community of people who feel the way I do and are happy. I am a truth seeker and I'm willing to meet with atheist who are also truth seekers even if they don't share my opinions. I am white and American ARRGG my people met in villages for these reasons long before Christians polluted Europe. Church actually predates Christianity, you ignorant asses!

What I need is people who are open minded and not obsessed with making rules. I want to be able to compare what different people at the church say or even decide if every one at church is wrong. Likely NO ONE BELIEVES ANYTHING YOU STUPID CHRISTIANS! Mostly I want to learn how to walk away from a useless debate and find serenity.

Why do you need a group? Your beliefs are your own. If you need to have your beliefs reinforced by others then I would question your beliefs. If you are unsure what you believe then search for the answer from within yourself. If you need more info to convince yourself consider that the christian bible was compiled AND edited over many years by a bunch of old European men hundreds of years after the original works were written.
I don't claim to be a true atheist but I certainly don't buy into what organized religion is selling.

You should try Craigslist for your area. I'm not near Maine, so I wouldn't know, but I have noticed there are local discussions for every topic on Craigslist and that includes an Atheist section.
Of course some Atheists can be rather pedantic insisting that their version of Atheism is the only version worth noting etc. but you can find truthers of all religions. While there may not be an Atheist gathering, you may find a truther gathering at a coffee shop or book store, which includes Christian and Neopagan participants as well.
If you can't find one, post on Craigslist to start one!
On facebook there is the Coffee Party which was named in a reactionary way against the Tea Party, but which basically is opposed to the Dem/Rep party.
So search for meetings of the Coffee Party to find similar open minded people who are not brainwashed.
Sadly there will always be moles trying to infiltrate, corrupt, and mislead every group. The most you can hope for is to meet a few people with whom to become friends.

Here's a link to craigslist for your convenience:
https://forums.craigslist.org/?forumID=4&areaID=169

Note, it is to the OPEN forum, not to the Atheist forum, and there are posts from people from all over the world there, but posts from Maine are sorted to the top and begin with "mne".
