Xbox live question about the facebook app. =)?

Im not usually the one to ask questions about this coz i usually figure it out on my own but this has me baffled lol. =(

Ok so i can get onto my facebook and see people's profiles and pics etc but my question is how can i check messages and message people (if you can) I've looked but for the life of me cant see a way to do.
