How do you know if someone sends you a message on twitter?

I got a message on twitter from my crush and I didn't see it until 2 days after! Twitter did not email me and it wasn't on my interactions or mentions. How are you supposed to know?!

One of the annoying things about twitter is that it doesn't tell you when you get direct messages. Very annoying! When you go on twitter, you always have to remind yourself to go on direct messages, put a note on your computer and im sure that if you and your crush start direct messaging eachother, you aren't likely to forget to check.

I think you can go into 'settings' and choose the option of being emailed when you get a DM

Go to Twitter.

If you go on to "settings" then the "mobile" option, you can choose to get a text message from Twitter every time somebody messages you. This also can send you text messages when you get a tweet from somebody or when a certain celebrity tweets.

This can all be altered on the settings, don't worry about having to do ALL of these
