How do you search for friends on the HTC Chacha Facebook app?

I just got a HTC Chacha and I'm having a little trouble being able to search for friends on Facebook.

I'm trying to add someone that I have no mutual friends with by using the normal Facebook app that it comes with and it isn't giving me the full list of names of everyone on Facebook with the same name. Also, when I put their email address in, it doesn't come up in the search results.

Does anyone have an idea of how I can search for new friends on the HTC Chacha?
