Is my friend really a lesbian or?
She was my best friend since 6th grade, we were always liking boys and always talked about them, went out with them, ect.
Once we hit high school, she went out with some guys and was kind of a, how should I put this, a -slut-. She and her boyfriend lived together for 3+ years but broke up last year. Apparently, they had a hugeee falling out and ever since then, he's been stalking her but she doesn't want him back. He abused her and took some of her property from what she tells me. So now she's saying to me that she doesn't mind fantasizing and making out with a girl (and she's obviously never been with a girl). I've seen her 'like' looots and lots of lesbian related content over facebook and keep in mind, she's been single since her last boyfriend. She also has quite a few male gay best friends I've seen her hang out with a lot.

I just don't think she's a lesbian for some odd reason..I mean, she was never like that in middle school? and aren't you supposed to always like the same sex and not TURN gay, in order to be truly classified as gay? I get that she's super liberal and a huge supporter of the gay rights and so am I, but it doesn't mean I am gay even if I'm bi-curious. I don't know... what do you guys think?

To be honest, it sounds like your friend has experienced some type of trauma - likely some form of sexual abuse. Usually all lesbians and gays are sexually abused. Ask her if you can go there with her - I can almost guarantee I am right.

i don't think its of any of your business. if you don't want to date her why do you care? and no one in their right frame of mind would "lie" about being gay.

Well, a persons sexual orientation is different between people. Also, people do not turn gay, it's a biological impossibility. Have you talked about how he treated her, with her? If you know she feels comfortable talking about it, then go ahead and talk with her. Get some more info, so you can see the whole picture, and understand why she is like this. I'm not saying it's wrong, but she might be trying to hide her trauma. I wish you two the best of luck, and I hope you can sort things out. :-)

Maybe she's curious now that she's had a bad relationship with a guy, it happens sometimes. I wouldn't worry about it, if she can't actually date or have sex with a girl then she's not a lesbian.
