What Happened to my iPhone?

So basically I can listen to music and all that but when I turn the little switch (on the side) on I'm not able to hear the keyboard click or Instagram videos. Yes, I've already checked the setting and made sure that that keyboard click sounds are enabled. I've tried cleaning the charger place. I just want to hear things when the switch on the side is on. Any solutions?

That is the silent switch, it is supposed to do that

Go in settings sounds hearing tools

it doesn't matter what the settings is. if the side switch is muted you won't hear anything period. vice versa if it's un muted

If there is a small red line next to the switch, it means you still have it on silent. Flick it again and that should restored the ringer volume (which can then be increased using the + button under the sound switch) and the keyboard clicks.
