A company has used my information in their posted article on FB and their website. Help!?
A rival company has recently posted an article on their Facebook and website directly referring to me, my background and insinuating that I am the author of a post I made for the company I work for. I am my employer's Communications and Marketing manager and all posts I do are in the company's opinions and not mine, however, the rival company has addressed me personally and referred to my background and even address me by a name that is my nickname, not readily available in my professional circle. Can I make them take it down? What are my options, legally?

Slander has a lot of gray areas hard to shine a light on in court, reporting them to their hosting company may be the shortest path to getting some response.
If it were a more clear cut case of plagiarism, a Cease and Desist order from a legal sounding rep will often get the material removed. You might do a web search for "reputation management" to learn how some of these online services deal with such situations. Ads |
