facebook awaiting friend confirmation?

im not sure if this is just me or not, but i added a person on facebook okay. so when i type the name in the search box, it appears with the name ( when you are friends with the person), when i see that someone else has added the person, it doesn't say add as friend. BUT when i go onto the profile, it says awaiting friend confirmation.
im am so confused.

If you go to his facebook and it says "Add as a friend" That means that they rejected the friend request. If it says "Awaiting friend request" That means that they still haven't confirmed or ignored you as a friend. Facebook shows the list of your friends and the ones that are pending as well. If you were ignored then you wouldn't be able to see that person on the friends list.
