What are the benefits of having a Facebook account?

I do not have a Facebook account. I've always seen it as a pointless, screw-off site to post pictures and messages between teens and young people.

Having said that, I'm wondering if there are any redeeming values to having an account?

For instance, can it be used for small business or employment networking?

I agree with you entirely, there's no benefits from having a facebook account, unless you have a business to promote.
