facebook profile pic question?

bare with me on this one..
i dont have the latest facebook(timeline) so my profile pic isnt a box however what i wanted to know is when my profile pic is displayed as a thumbnail will fb like sort of shrink the photo before i choose how i want the thumbnail to look like cause i have a photo but its quite close up but i want it to show a bit of the surrounding area if you get what i mean, so my thumbnail isnt just a full face if that makes sense???

so the thumbnail is sort of how mine looks for my yahoo ans thumbnail, showing a bit of the body, or will fb just crop it to the face cause its a close up pic?

yeah there is a scale to fit but im not sure cause when i tried it with a diff pic it left white blank space down the sides which i dont like but then again i dont just want the whole thumbnail on just a face :/

is there a scale to fit check box when editing how your thumbnail looks like? (i have it in timeline and was just wondering if it was in yours too).

Scale to Fit shows your whole picture in the box..
