how do you change your profile on the new yahoo??

I'm really confused when ever i click on edit profile it says connect to Facebook or a grey picture saying "no picture" is there anyway apart from connecting to Facebook...?...

Are you on a mobile device? If you want to change your picture, then you must be on a computer. And what you are doing is not editing your profile - you are attempting to change your profile picture. If you want to edit your profile, go to http://profile.yahoo.com and then click the wrench icon.

If you're on a computer and you aren't getting an "upload" option, it's a glitch. Try clearing your cookies, cache, and history, restart your computer, and try again, or on a different browser.

Assuming you are referring to your avatar, you do not need to connect to face book. Yahoo no longer provides avatars however you can create one from other free sites see the links below. If you are on wireless you must wait until you are on a computer.
Choose either a cartoon or a photo avatar you had saved to your pc.

Close and reopen your browser or reboot. and your avatar should be showing If your avatar isn't showing try resizing it to make it smaller.
