Why would my friend make another Facebook since she moved to Canada?

My friend is from the United states, and recently moved to canada. Anyways, she created a new Facebook for Canada, but she has her old facebook from her old life in America. Is this odd? Do people make new facebooks when they move countries?

Yes, it's good to protect yourself. Sometimes moving to a new place you want a fresh start and the last thing you need is new friends mixing with your history and old friends. It may not make much sense but sometimes we need some privacy in life.
