How to find out information about an account on Instagram?

I have a major problem in my school. There is somebody who made a mean account about a girl. That account is now deleted and they now have a sorry page because they felt bad. Nobody knows who did it. Is there a way to find out information about who this is? Besides the accounts email? Most people just put down a fake email.

There is NO way to find out that information due to privacy laws. The only way this would be possible is if the police got involved, then they would have to get a court order to subpoena Instagram's records to be able to trace the person's IP. But to get a court order they need proof that criminal activity has occurred
Without a court order Instagram will never give out the account holder's details - it would be illegal for them to do so
