Would You Recommend Joining Facebook?
Alright, I ask this question because my friends keep asking me to join Facebook. I'm afraid that if I do join, someone is going to get all my info. Also, there are some mean girls on FB from my school and I'm worried about them trying to friend me on FB because if I don't accept their request they will probably harass me about not being friends with them on FB. Should any of this concern me? What is it that makes Facebook fun (because my friends are all like, "C'mon join Facebook. It's so fun...")? What all do you do on there? What are its main points? If anyone knows, please answer. Thanks in advance! Smile

mm it's good to socialise but the whole Facebook "Fad" is dead or is in the process of dying.

it's just not fun anymore, same thing happened to Bebo, Multiply, My Space etc etc.

i personally just wouldn't bother

yes. facebook will get your data, they may save it for for-ever, and they do sell it to other companies for marketing purposes.

You could do what I did.. make a facebook account. Only provide your name and birthday. Make your friends happy by adding them and you're done. You don't have to look ever again at your facebook acount.. and all your friends will stop whining that you should take it.

Anyway. The main point of facebook is to look at friends, respond to the pictures they post and look at what others say to others. To be honest.. i think it's really bizar that everybody should talk on the internet and letting everybody read what they are saying to eachother. Sometimes I see messages between two people that I don't even want to know about.

So.. facebook is kindy nerdy, and can be highly addictive because everyone wants the most friends; the most reply's on his pics; the most "thumbs up" on their ramble about the day..

You won't learn a lot from facebook, and if you can manage without I don't think it will offer a lot to you. Maybe some vacation pics of people you knew but grew apart of. But what the hell, if your friends really want you to take it.. why not, just provide as less information as possible and everybody is happy.

You shouldn't be concerned about friend request. Just accept everyone.. it's more like who you know then which people are your friends.

You stay connected, and that's always really nice.

Facebook just goes on for forever and it's so easy to get addicted and spend hours on it.

Just be warned.
