Avoiding facebook virus?
So I just got a facebook message from an old aquaintance, and I didn't open it. From the previw of the message that you get, it looks like its a link to an amazon page about a sex book, which seems REALLY out of character for this person. It also says it has an attatchment (which is probably the link), or it might be a file.
If I open the message, but don't click on the link, could I get a virus? How would you handle this situation? I also have norton antivirus on my internet.. Ads |

No. Most decent browsers (read: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox) will sandbox the pages, and a web page can't do anything without downloading a .exe and having you run it.
TLDR; A web page on its own can do no damage. |
