I'm happy that Monopoly is finally fading into oblivion, and that whichever toy conglomerate now owns the rights to that silly game are now obliged to milk its waning popularity by means of a silly marketing gimmick.
And it's relatively tasteful as such gimmicks go. They might have instead used a "make-over" gimmick, like "NEW! Iraqi Freedom DESERT CAMO Monopoly!". Or some kind of "tie-in" gimmick, like "NEW! Barbie Monopoly!" (After either of which, they could reintroduce the old version and call it "NEW! Classic Monopoly.")
The poet James Merrill, during the years of his greatest acclaim and influence, received many manuscripts from less successful literary chums asking for a blurb from him to promote their stuff. But when he couldn't find anything good to say about their writing, he was too kind hearted to ignore them or to say anything bad.
So he always said something like: "Only Bob Smith could have written a book like this." Which would please Bob Smith, but tactfully warn everyone else to save their money.

My sister and always fought over who would get to be the iron - but we have a perfectly good monopoly set anyway, so there will be no issues.

the cat's okay with me, I've never been a monopoly fan.
I like more fast-paced games.

I haven't seen them, I'm not big on changes like that. I always liked the top hat.

I don't care. The last time I played was when my son was 10, he is now 48. I don't think it is going to affect my life.
