Facebook; has more privacy settings (though I'm not saying it's entirely safe, just less public.) You also have a lot more room to write things; no really low character limits.

This depends on what's ur purposes of opening account. But Twitter is personally updated by celebrities & stars from their real life, whereas Facebook is most common for online business purposes as well as many common people. One more advantage of using Facebook is customization of ur choices for privacy and sharing, while in Twitter u will not get those features.

FaceBook is social and Twitter is commercial.
