i want to deactivate my facebook account

go to account in the top right corner.
go to account settings.
at the very bottom click deactivate account.
thats it.

Log in.
Top right corner, click Account.
Click Edit Settings from the Account drop-down menu.
Scroll all the way down, you should see "Deactivate Account."

Go to Account Settings in Facebook and you'll find there the deactivate button.

go to top right corner then click account settings and then click deactivate account.
It will also ask you several reasons why you want to deactivate the account when you tried to deactivate your account, and choose it wisely.

Your facebook is never permanently deleted; if you deactivate it, you can reactivate it just by logging back in. Everything will be the same &you won't have to create a new one.
