Is it illegal to ask for donations via social media websites? - Melissa K - 03-27-2014 04:40 AM I want to post links to a charity donation website(legit by the way.) But I've heard that it's illegal to ask for money even if it's for a legitimate cause. Is this true? I posted the link to my own facebook page, but I want to know if I can post the link on twitter or celebrity pages. I feel like if it's legal for me to go to my neighbors and ask for money, I should be able to post on a friends twitter, etc etc. Does anyone know if this is legal or if I can find out? - Adriana - 03-27-2014 04:47 AM You have to look into that site's privacy policy or use of site policy.... it's usually at the bottom of the page - Taiqi - 03-27-2014 04:49 AM you have to have an explicit autorization from that charity organization.
