I suggest you use a Facebook group. It is easier to setup and it's also easier for people to join to.

This can't be answered without knowing what your business is or who your customers are. You want to be where your customers are. If your customers are primarily old-school IT professionals, a forum may be more appropriate. If your customers are yuppies, facebook would be the place. A lot of businesses do both (plus Twitter).

I'd say to use a FB group. Many of your customers are likely to be on Facebook already which makes things easier.

A forum is private and harder to get people to use regularly.

Thats my experience!

Good luck.
