Your IP Address has been selected ads? - Sonia - 11-09-2012 01:22 PM In these past few days I've been noticing those "you've won" types of ads on my facebook and other websites. I usually use Firefox so I checked Chrome and it's the same there too. I ran a scan with AVG and it said my comp was clean. Is this a virus?? Uch I dunno where it could've come from I usually frequent the same websites. Help?! - ? - 11-09-2012 01:30 PM http://www.ehow.com/about_5116971_definition-adware.html - Tony RB - 11-09-2012 01:30 PM Those "you've won" ads are all scams, but the ad agencies that handle them won't dump the ads until someone proves the company behind the ad is a scam. Every website gets hit with them, it takes a while for them to disappear. Only thing I can suggest is to email the website and complain about those ads. I still get regular mail to my house from "travel agencies" that tell me I have won a free airplane flight to the destination of my choice - all I have to do is call to confirm. And I sometimes get telephone calls like that too. Every one of them is a bait - they want me to pay some sort of "handling fee" or "registration fee" or "taxes up front". I hang up on them now, they aren't worth the trouble of calling them scams. - Sravani - 11-09-2012 01:30 PM Don't believe those messages, they are scams. - Mark - 11-09-2012 01:30 PM They cant do with your Ip address |
